At the time of writing this article, 64 people have reviewed and rated the DeWALT DW734 wood planer on Amazon.com.  Of these 64 reviews, 50 people gave this planer 4 or 5 stars.  Given that 5/5 is a perfect score, that’s a pretty good sign.  There were a few negative reviews, however.  One reviewer warned that this wood planer broke down on him multiple after extensive use (i.e., over 1000 lineal feet of wood).  He says that he’s had to repair it multiple times and order replacement parts from DeWALT’s web store.

That said, the positive reviews definitely outweighed the negative ones.  One consumer said “hats off to DeWalt” after using the DW734 successfully and with virtually no snipe.  Another man says that this was the first planer he has ever bought and it that it works great right out of the box, with no calibration and only minor assembly required.
